Eligibility and Awards

Your group must meet ALL the basic criteria to be eligible for a grant. Before proceeding, we ask that you carefully review our criteria to ensure that your group is eligible.

A group may only have one proposal of any type under consideration at a given time.

Amount granted may be less than the amount requested if and when an award is made.

How to Apply

All groups that wish to be considered for our 2016 annual grantmaking cycle must submit an Organizational Profile through our secure online system. If deemed qualified, these applicants will be contacted and invited to submit a full proposal for funding.Please review our process for more details.

Groups with existing Organizational Profiles may be invited for particular issue-based initiatives throughout the year as opportunities arise. As these opportunities may arise at any time, we strongly encourage groups to submit their Organizational Profiles as soon as possible.

Important Note: Each organization must create ONLY ONE login account using an organizational email address. This login will be used to submit the Organizational Profile and to manage all the future grantmaking interaction with Global Fund for Women. We strongly suggest using an organizational email address that can be accessed by several persons.

Travel Grants

These are small grants that allow members of an organization to attend conferences and events.

• Your group must meet ALL the basic criteria to be eligible for a grant. Before proceeding, we ask that you carefully review our criteria to ensure that your group is eligible.
• A group may only have one proposal of any type under consideration at a given time.
• Amount granted may be less than the amount requested if and when an award is made.
• Travel grant requests must be received at least 8 weeks before the beginning of the event. Funds for these kinds of grants are limited.
• Because travel grant funding is limited, priority will be given to former Global Fund for Women grantees that do not have access to other funding sources. Please note that at this time, Travel grant requests to the Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa programs are only accepted from groups that have previously received general support grants from us.
