Lane Kirkland Scholarships for Young Leaders with Higher Education

Polish-American Freedom Foundation in coordination with Education for Democracy Foundation is inviting candidates from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic for the Lane Kirkland Scholarships 2014-15.

The Program is offered as a two-semester project course with Polish universities and 2-4-week professional internships with public or private institutions. The scholarship amount is approximately PLN 1,800 per month along with educational fees, accommodation in Poland, insurance, travel to and from Poland, visa fees, purchase of educational materials and equipment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be young leaders with higher education who are interested in the development of democracy, economy and civil society in their countries and in the region.
  • Applicants must be citizens and permanent residents of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic.
  • Applicants must hold Master’s degree and must be up to the age of 35 years.
  • Polish language proficiency is required (except for those with study program in English language in which case only basic Polish is required).
  • Applicants must have worked professionally at least for 2 years.

Complete application includes – completed online application form, current photograph, two letters of reference (in Polish, English or Russian), and copy of Master ’s degree diploma (or PhD diploma). Completed application form (downloaded, printed, signed and attached with current photograph) must reach via regular mail; and letters and certificates should be scanned and sent via email before deadline.
