The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced a Request for Applications for the Child Blindness Program (CBP) for activities aimed at increasing the number of children provided with quality care services and unceasing global knowledge of pediatric eye care through innovation and implementation of best practices.
The objectives of the program are:
Goal 1: To increase the number of children provided with quality eye care services
- Increasing the availability and accessibility to quality eye health and vision services for children and other vulnerable populations
- Improving the capacity of eye care organizations by strengthening administrative, technical, and/or financial functions
- Testing, designing and expanding the scale of innovative approaches for eye care in various country contexts
- Increasing the evidence base for effective approaches leading to scale-up of pediatric eye care programs
- Delivery and Expansion Grants (D&E): The purpose of these grants is to increase the number of children provided with quality eye care services.
- Innovation and Knowledge Grants: The purpose of these grants is to increase global knowledge of pediatric eye care through innovation and dissemination of best practices.
