WWF inviting applications for Training Workshop Grants

 

Last date : 1 May 2014, 1 August 2014, 1 November 2014 and 1 February 2015

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is accepting applications for the 2014 Conservation Workshop Grants which fund organizations to train communities, stakeholders, park guards, and others on local and regional conservation issues. These grants support training workshops with a strong hands-on learning component that will build capacity for people living in WWF priority places in select countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Local organizations from select WWF-US priority countries must meet all of the eligibility criteria to be considered for a grant.

Organizations may request up to $7,500 for the proposed training.

Organizations working in the following countries are eligible to apply. Please note that within the eligible countries EFN gives preference to applicants working in certain WWF priority places, indicated in parenthesis below.

Belize (Mesoamerican Reef), Bhutan, Bolivia (Amazon), Cambodia, Cameroon (Congo Basin), Central African Republic (Congo Basin), Colombia (Amazon, Eastern Pacific Ocean), Dem. Republic of Congo (Congo Basin), Ecuador (Amazon and Galapagos), Gabon (Congo Basin), Guatemala (Mesoamerican Reef, Eastern Pacific Ocean), Guyanas (Amazon), Honduras (Mesoamerican Reef), Kenya (Coastal East Africa), Laos, Madagascar,Mozambique (Primeiras e Segundas marine area, Quirimbas, Lake Niassa Aquatic Reserve, Ruvuma Landscape),Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal (Terai Arc Landscape, Sacred Himalayan Landscape, Chitwan Annapurna Linkage), Papua New Guinea (Coral Triangle), Peru (Amazon, Eastern Pacific Ocean), Republic of Congo (Congo Basin),Suriname (Amazon), Tanzania (Coastal East Africa), Vietnam, Zambia.

EFN encourages all applicants to apply at least 3 months in advance of the proposed workshop date. Applications will be reviewed 4 times a year as noted below:

  • May 1, 2014
  • August 1, 2014
  • November 1, 2014
  • February 1, 2015
