Apply for SMSC Scholarship for Adaptive Management for Conservation Success Training

Last date : April 7, 2014

Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation (SMSC) is accepting applications for International Conservation Training Scholarships from international professionals to attend different conservation training courses, the nearest entitled Adaptive Management for Conservation Success.

Scholarship recipients are expected both to utilize their training to address conservation challenges in their countries, and to disseminate their new knowledge among  regional colleagues.

The awards range from $500-$3,000.

Application Deadline for Different Training Courses :

  1. Ecological Restoration: Invasive Species Management – 5 May 2014
  2. Statistics for Ecology and Conservation Biology- 9 June 2014
  3. The Ecology and Conservation of Migratory Birds – 23 June 2014
  4. Spatial Ecology, Geospatial Analysis and Remote Sensing for Conservation – 7 July 2014
  5. Watershed Conservation: Riparian Restoration – 21 July 2014
  6. Applied Climate Change: Gaining Practical Skills for Climate Change Adaptation – 11 August 2014

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Applicant must be a non-US citizen.
  • Applicant must obtain acceptance into the professional training course to which he/she has applied. These scholarships cannot be used towards graduate/’for-credit’ courses.
  • Applicant must be early- to mid-career.
  • Applicant’s personal statement of interest, submitted in his/her online course application, should clearly indicate the relevance of the course topic to his/her professional position or career goals.
  • Applicants should first fill the online application. Eligible applicants will be sent a scholarship application form.
