The Center for Health Policy offering Post-doctoral Opportunity

School of Public Health, Center for Health Policy is inviting applications from highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in health equity and social justice for Post-doctoral Opportunity. One outstanding candidate will be selected to join the existing team that examines South African health systems, institutions and delivery mechanisms. The opportunity is for Building Capacity in Health Policy and Systems Research.

Eligibility Criteria :

• Applicant can be from anywhere in the world but preference is given to qualified South African candidates.
• Applicants must be highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in health equity and social justice.
• Applicants must be passionate about research, preferably with a good understanding of the financial, human resource and governance dimensions of health systems, especially in the context of universal health coverage.
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate innovative thinking with respect to methods and approaches.
• Applicants must have a relevant doctoral degree (e.g. public health, sociology, political science,development studies) and possess knowledge of public health, health systems or health policy.

• Applicants must have excellent writing and conceptual skills, and be able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Application must be accompanied with cover letter, curriculum vitae, 3 referees, certified copies of degrees/diplomas, and a short piece of recent written work, or publication, on which the applicant is the first author.
