Global Development Network (GDN) is accepting submissions for ‘The Global Development Awards and Medals Competition (AMC)’. The aim of AMC is to recognize excellence in policy-oriented research, support research capacity development of researchers in developing countries and fund innovative social development projects benefiting marginalized groups in the developing world. This is a grant program supporting researches.
GDN accepts submissions in three different categories -
- Japanese Award for Most Innovative Development Project (MIDP)
- Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD)
- Medals for Research on Development (Medals)
MDIP is inviting applications from NGOs for projects supporting improved service delivery, in particular, and innovative approaches that may be scaled-up through grant financing. The applying projects must be implementing activities with a high potential for development impact to exceptionally marginalized and disadvantaged groups located in developing countries and transition economies. Deadline for submission of application is 6 March 2014.
ORD is invites researchers from developing countries and transition economies to submit research proposals in the theme of Structural Transformation in Africa and Beyond. It is a competitive grant program that identifies and funds outstanding research proposals in developing countries and transition economies with high potential for excellence in research and clear policy implications for addressing development issues. Deadline for submission of research proposals is 6 March 2014.
Medals for Research on Development 2013 invites researchers from developing countries and transition economies to submit completed Research papers in the main theme of Structural Transformation in Africa and Beyond. This program identifies and awards completed research papers that have engaged path-breaking approaches in addressing contemporary development issues. The authors of the paper should be researchers from developing countries and transition economies. Deadline for submission of research papers is 31 January 2014.
Eligibility :
- The MIDP Award is open to all development projects being implemented in low income countries and lower middle income countries in Africa, Asia, Commonwealth of Independent States, Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean, Pacific Islands, and the transition economies of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The project implementation must have started before 1 January, 2013.
- The ORD competition is open only to researchers from developing countries and transition economies with the requirement that they need to be citizens or permanent residents of these countries.
- The Medals competition is open only to researchers who are nationals of developing countries and transition economies with the requirement that they need to be citizens or permanent residents of these countries. And papers for the Medals competition must not have been published in an internationally published journal or book before 31 January, 2013.
