The GlobalGiving Accelerator


The GlobalGiving Accelerator is a virtual training program and crowdfunding campaign that will help you take your fundraising to the next level. Following an optional two-week training curriculum, you’ll be entered into an Accelerator campaign where you’ll raise at least $5,000 total from a minimum of 40 different donors in order to graduate and secure a permanent fundraising spot on the GlobalGiving platform.
Any registered nonprofit (anywhere in the world!) is eligible to apply. We’ll support you as you reach out to your own networks, and tell your story in new and compelling ways. We’ll also provide matching incentives for your donors, and bonus prizes for the most successful participants
TRAINING TOPICS INCLUDE:
  • Crowdfunding 101;
  • Mapping your potential donor network;
  • Storytelling and email appeals; and
  • Creating SMART goals.
  • Win Extra Funding from GlobalGiving!

    GlobalGiving provides several opportunities for organizations to win Bonus prizes or matching funds during the Accelerator crowdfunding campaign.
    • Bonus Day: During the Accelerator, GlobalGiving will have one Bonus Day during which GlobalGiving will match online donations between $25 and $1,000.
    • Most Funds Raised Prizes: At the conclusion of the Accelerator campaign, the project with the most funds raised during the campaign will receive $3,000. The organization that raises the second highest amount will receive $2,000 and the organization with the third highest amount will receive $1,000.
    • Most Unique Donors Prize: At the conclusion of the Accelerator, the project with the most unique donors during the campaign will receive $2,000.
The first step is to complete the online application. Our next deadline to submit applications is October 11, 2016 but we accept applications at any time!

Coady Institute’s Global Change Leaders Program 2016 for Emerging Women Leaders in Developing Countries

Coady Institute’s International Centre for Women’s Leadership is currently inviting applications for the Global Change Leaders Program 2016. It is a seven-week education program offered by Coady Institute’s International Centre for Women’s Leadership.

This program enables women from developing countries to strengthen their leadership capacities in order to contribute to innovation and change in their organizations and communities.

Benefits

  • The Global Change Leaders program provides successful candidates with a full scholarship that includes tuition, travel, accommodations, and meals. Successful participants are responsible for costs pertaining to acquiring a visa to enter Canada.
  • Program participants benefit from the guidance and mentorship of accomplished women leaders from around the world. The program is led by a core team of staff in the International Centre for Women’s Leadership and supported by other Coady faculty and associates.

Program Schedule

For 2016, the Global Change Leaders Program consists of two main components:

  • August 22 – October 7, 2016:  A seven week on-site intensive course at the Coady International Institute in Antigonish, Nova Scotia where a collaborative relationship is fostered among facilitators and participants to draw out lessons and insights from their rich and diverse experiences.
  • October 11, 2016 – April 30, 2017:  Participants will benefit from one-on-one mentoring from experienced women leaders upon their return home for up to six months to follow on the application of learning into practice.

Eligibility Criteria

This program is targeted to emerging women leaders from developing countries who are working on development issues. These are women who:

  • Possess a minimum of four years of demonstrated leadership experience in a social or economic development endeavor in sectors such as livelihoods or inclusive economic development, food security,environment, access to education and health care, governance, political engagement of women and the rights of girls and women.
  • Have great drive and passion for their work, demonstrated through their outstanding contributions in their organizations and communities.
  • Are practitioners in civil society organizations including community based organizations and not for profits, or active in public or private institutions, donor/philanthropic agencies, social movements or in a social enterprise/business.
  • Hold a university degree or a combination of post-secondary education and experience.
  • Have strong oral and written English language competencies.

Global Alliance for Youth Leaders Program for Young Nigerians

Are you a social enterprise for youth in Nigeria? Are you an advocate for youth? If yes, the following opportunity awaits you!

Applications are invited from Young Nigerians for its Global Alliance for Youth Leaders Program (GAYL) to be held in Nigeria. GAYL was formed soon after finishing a leadership training course that was organized by the Commonwealth Youth program (CYP) in 2013 under the Discovering Young Leaders Program (DYLP), GAYL presently runs in over 20 commonwealth nations with Headquarters in AccraGhana.

GAYL is commited to equipping youth, youth leaders, youth entrepreneurs and youth stakeholder with the skills, tools and support that they require to serve as change agent’s so that they can impact change projects in their countries, company and communities.

Benefits

  • After screening, Successful candidates will be contacted and officially inducted into the alliance.
  • Membership into GAYL would open youth leaders to Grant and funding opportunities, increase network with key stakeholders in and outside Nigeria, and other local and international opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be the native of Nigeria.
  • Applicant must have the age between 18 to 35 years.
  • Applicant must be courageous, determined, self-confident, and reliant.
  • Applicant must have the proof/back-up of various works they’ve done to the betterment of humanity.
